Chinese Herbs and Remedies...
I love Chinese herbs and herbal medicine (and the food) but as of late have had a very hard time with either using or recommending Chinese herbs mostly because of one thing: It seems every time you turn around there is someone reporting on the all the toxic things in Chinese products... Unfortunately these bad practices have spilled over to other industries such as medicines and even chinese herbs. It is not uncommon to assay a chinese herbal product and find many questionable things,.. including... Pharmaceuticals were found in several herbal products and even aired on television (that's where I saw it). Counterfitting of everything from handbags to gym shoesis a HUGE problem in China, including the making of counterfit Viagra, as well as some life-saving medicines people desperately need to survive - some of them even died!
